Construction

15 years of experience in the Construction Products Supply chain have developed an in depth knowledge of the ways that well engineered Manufacturing, Information Technology, Transport and Logistics contribute to Lean and Efficient Construction.

We have worked with our clients to develop systems and technologies that optimise the benefits of “Off site” construction by playing close attention to the detail of each stage of the supply chain process.

  • Off Site Construction

Prefabrication of construction elements is an age old practice, the bible records that Solomon had the stones for his temple precut in the Quarry so that no hammers would be heard on site and that was some 3000 years ago. Off site construction has gone in and out of fashion over the years but never been to far away. In the view of Quality, Safety and Product demands combined with skill shortages it seems that Off site construction will be a real option for many european countries in the short and medium terms. We are pleased to work with client manufacturers, designers, developers, builders and contractors to provide off site solutions. We bring knowledge of the opportunities of manufacturing and a comprehensive knowledge of construction processes to the table and work to use off site technology to optimise cost and time resources.

  • Sustainable Construction

We all want to lead lives of convenience, and yet we do not want to be found guilty somewhere down the line of stealing our children’s inheritance. Sustainability is about doing the sums on on how we can be responsible in our conduct with the natural resources around us so as to leave opportunity for our children and grandchildren. It is a greatly divided topic and lacks a single clear science for deriving the sustainability for construction elements or outputs. We follow with interest the debate on sustainability and promote the consideration of sustainability in processes and resources. We apply the principles of engineering judgement in discerning sustainable solutions.

  • BIM

Poor communication and flow of information has been the achilles heel of construction projects for pretty much as long as records reveal. Excerpts from professional journals at the dawn of the 20th century read as if they were written only a few days ago when they record the difficulty in getting accurate information. You would think that with all the technical aids and computer applications that we have at our disposal things must have improved and yet they have not. Construction remains a highly inefficient industry.

Building Information Management has been widely billed as the key to shaking of the industries historical tardiness and issuing in better programming and profitability. Although many interpret this to mean that software will solve what people have failed to do, and this simply cannot be the case, the principles of better communication and structure around Information Management are undoubtedly overdue. We are accredited BIM practitioners and are keen to work with management teams to assist in understanding and implementing better Information Management as set out in the standards and protocols.

  • Precast Concrete Technology

Concrete technology has been our first and primary field of operation. With 15 years experience in concrete materials it remains a key area of interest for us. We have worked on several research projects that have proved to be important business initiatives and we keep in touch with industry developments in plant and product development at european and international levels. Having worked to develop industry standards and design and certify products in accordance with national and european standards we are always glad to work in this field. We follow with interest the growth of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) use and the more novel subjects of UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete) and textile reinforcement.
